Meet the Team
Though Jack V. Butterfield Investment Company is a family-run investment firm, we have a total of seven employees on staff, each of whom are vital to our daily operations.
John Butterfield
President, Since 1979
John has worked at J.V.B. Investment Company since 1979 and as owner/operator since 1983. He is a licensed Principal, Municipal Principal, Financial and Operations Principal, Registered Investment Advisor, Equity Trader, General Securities Principal, General Securities Representative, Investment Banking Representative, Municipal Securities Principal, Municipal Securities Representative and also holds a Life/Annuity license.
Tim Thayer
Vice President, Since 1984
Tim graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. He is a licensed Principal, Registered Investment Advisor, and also has General Securities and Life/Annuity Licenses.
Jason Butterfield
Regional Vice President, Since 2009
Jason earned his Bachelors degree in Finance as a graduate of Grand Valley State University. Prior to joining J.V.B. Investment Company, Jason worked at John Hancock Financial in Grand Rapids.
Bob Robidoux
Office Manager, Since 1990
Bob earned an Associates degree from Jackson Community College. His responsibilities include the accounting of the company, compliance issues, tax and accounting questions for clients, as well as computer and office equipment support.
Kim Croad
Registered Sales Associate, Since 1992
Kim primarily assists John, handling several retirement plans, special projects and account reviews. Kim lives in Parma with her husband and dog named Dietz.
Katie Weir
Registered Sales Associate, Since 2004
Katie graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Before joining J.V.B. Investment Company, Katie worked at an investment firm in Chicago. She primarily assists Tim and Jason with their client accounts.
Aimee Swiatlowski
Assistant, Since 2001
Aimee is a graduate of Jackson Community College, with degrees in Information Processing, Executive Secretary and Business. Aimee is likely the first person you speak with on the phone or see when you come into the office. She resides in Jackson with her husband, two daughters and three cats.
